Lead Educator | Whittlesea
Journey Early Learning is seeking an enthusiastic, passionate, and experienced Lead Educator to join the Toddler Room with our Whittlesea team in providing a safe and stimulating environment which meets the social, cultural, emotional, educational and physical needs of the children and encourages parent and community participation.
Centre Overview:
Journey Early Learning Whittlesea is a warm and homely centre catering for up to 70 children per day that inspires adventure and joy in all children. Exceeding the National Quality Standards, Whittlesea prides itself on its embedded Exceeding practices and this is seen in every interaction, activity, and connection.
With a recently renovated outdoor play-space, our environment will bring out the explorer in you. We have native gardens, rock beds, wooden bridges and an incredible edible garden that is maintained by our little adventurers and educators.
Our educators love building strong community ties, you can often find us on an adventure connecting with a variety of community services or exploring our natural environments through our Bush Kinder program.
About the role:
This is a Permanent part-time opportunity across Monday to Friday.
As our Lead Educator, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and educational experiences for the children in our care.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure a high level of health & safety standards are maintained at all times
Lead, develop and implement engaging, high-quality educational programs
Mentor and support educators to plan and deliver meaningful learning experiences.
Overseeing and approving centre Storypark posts
Foster a dynamic and inclusive learning environment that encourages exploration and creativity
Provide constructive feedback to educators to promote continuous improvement and a culture of positive change
Collaborate with families to ensure each child’s learning journey is supported and enrichd
About you:
You are a creative and inspired early childhood educator with a passion to lead and develop age specific programs and daily routines. You will be a collaborative member of the team, working to build strong relationships with Educators, children, and families.
Key skills and requirements:
Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care, or actively studying towards one.
Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma, and Anaphylaxis Certificates
Current Child Protection Training Certificate, or willingness to obtain.
Approved working with children Check (state specific)
Demonstrated passion for nurturing the next generation of learners
Experience in leading curriculum development with a focus on play-based learning and holistic education
Strong written communication and literacy skills, with the ability to document and communicate educational progress effectively
An ability to provide feedback that fosters professional growth and a positive team culture
High-level time management skills to effectively balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
A collaborative mindset, committed to working as part of a community of learners
