Childcare Chef| Riverhills

Journey Early Learning is seeking an enthusiastic, passionate, and experienced Chef to plan and prepare nutritionally balanced meals and snacks for all children at Journey Early Learning | Riverhills

This is a Permanent Part-time opportunity, across Monday to Friday 7 AM - 1 PM.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Plan and prepare healthy, balanced meals and snacks for children,  
  • Adhere to dietary guidelines and any specific dietary requirements or allergies. 
  • Ensure health and safety guidelines are adhered to in the kitchen, including food preparation and servicing areas. 
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness, ensuring that general day to day procedures are followed. 
  • Manage inventory, order food supplies, and ensure proper storage of ingredients. 
  • Collaborate with the centre Manager to develop menus that meet the nutritional needs of children. 
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations including, Journey Early Learning Centre's policies

About you: 

You are an experienced Chef who is passionate about creating delicious, healthy meals that fuel young bodies and minds. 

Role Requirements:  

  • Experience as a cook, preferably in a childcare or school setting 
  • Knowledge of child nutrition and dietary needs 
  • Knowledge of food safety program requirements  
  • Understanding of allergies and anaphylaxis 
  • Strong organization and time management skills 
  • Valid Working with Children Check 
  • Food Safety Supervisor certificate
