Journey Early Learning | Permanent Full-Time
$40–$48 per hour + super (experience dependent)

This is a rare and genuinely exciting leadership opportunity at our 170‑place service in Echuca.

This role has been designed to strengthen leadership capability, share responsibility, and create balance, allowing you to focus on what matters most: people, practice and culture.

Why Echuca?

Our Echuca service is a large, vibrant, community-connected centre where leadership is shared, educators feel supported, and children thrive in a warm, inclusive environment.

🌱 About the role

As Assistant Centre Manager, you’ll be a true leadership partner to the Centre Manager, playing a hands-on role in leading the service while being supported by a strong, well-resourced leadership structure.

You’ll work within an enhanced leadership model, which includes:

  • Support, mentor and inspire educators alongside two Educational Leaders
  • Embed quality practice, consistency and continuous improvement across the service
  • Build strong relationships with families and the local community
  • Step confidently into senior leadership without feeling stretched or isolated

You’ll also benefit from being part of a broader leadership community, with a nearby sister service providing connection, collaboration and support.

🌟 About you

This role is ideal for an experienced educator or leader who is ready to step into senior leadership with genuine structure, balance and support around them.

You’ll bring:

  • A Diploma or Bachelor qualification in Early Childhood Education
  • Previous leadership experience (e.g. 2IC, Educational Leader, Acting CM or similar)
  • A people-first leadership style grounded in trust, respect and collaboration
  • Strong knowledge of the EYLF, NQS and regulatory requirements
  • Confidence supporting teams while maintaining warmth, approachability and calm
  • A commitment to child safety, wellbeing and inclusive practice
