Project Specialist – Creating Inspiring Learning Environments
Full-Time | Thomastown VIC
At Journey Early Learning, we believe children flourish in environments where they feel safe, connected, and inspired. Every new centre we open is designed with this philosophy at its heart — homely spaces filled with curiosity, warmth, high-quality resources, and opportunities for wonder.
As our new Project Specialist, you will play a vital role in bringing these spaces to life.
This is more than a project role. It’s an opportunity to shape environments that support children’s learning, strengthen community connection, and empower educators to do their best work.
Your Impact
You will support the entire journey of establishing new Greenfield centres — from the moment resources are selected to the moment families step through our doors for the first time.
You’ll work closely with our Centre Quality, Performance, Talent, and Assets teams to ensure each new centre reflects our values of Connection, Consideration, and Communication, and meets our commitment to safety and exceptional standards.
In this role, you will:
- Create inspiring learning environments through thoughtful room layouts, high-quality resources, and Journey’s signature homely touch.
- Coordinate full centre fit outs — suppliers, logistics, warehousing, deliveries, room setup and final checks.
- Be hands-on at sites across Australia, supporting teams during busy fit-out periods.
- Partner with Centre Leadership Teams as they join Journey, guiding them through their induction experience.
- Support open days and local community engagement activities that help new centres feel part of their neighbourhood from day one.
- Ensure all compliance requirements are met, keeping children’s safety at the centre of every decision.
- Collaborate with our wider ecosystem to ensure transitions are smooth, communication is clear, and every project milestone is achieved.
What you’ll bring
- A passion for creating beautiful, meaningful early learning environments.
- Experience in multisite operations and strong organisational capability.
- Understanding of the NQF, Child Safety Standards, and compliance processes.
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within our supportive ecosystem.
- A willingness to travel and participate in hands‑on set up tasks.
- A mindset of curiosity, continuous improvement, and care.
Why Journey?
We are an organisation that aspires to be better every day — for our children, our families, our educators, and our communities. We invest in our people, our environments, and our vision of exceeding standards across every centre we open.
If you want to help build environments where children feel safe, where teams feel supported, and where communities feel welcomed — we’d love to hear from you.
Join us as we continue creating spaces filled with heart, purpose, and possibility.
